Caravanserai

ohmyfoodiegoodie

Auckland's most popular shisha spot is bringing some new food trends to Auckland!

AUCKLAND, ARE YOU READY FOR IT? Caravanserai in Chancery Square, which serves Mediterranean and Turkish food, has launched NZ's first 24CT GOLD STEAK and I was lucky to be invited to try it out! (Didn't think I would be back to be honest, since it is mostly full of people doing shisha).

Oh my, what an experience it was eating GOLD. We were treated to lovely French red wine to start off the night, followed by some greens that I actually reeally enjoyed, and of course the star of the show, the 24ct gold steaks. Valued up to $500, this is one for your next special occasion. Definitely the most expensive meal I've had to date. Though the gold itself is tasteless, the Tomahawk and Scotch fillet steaks were tender and amazing.

Thank you Caravanserai for inviting me to be part of this golden launch night! They are launching a new menu with some exciting new dishes, mixing Turkish flavours with other cuisines!

I've also previously been here for food using Zomato Gold.

Between four of us, we shared the Mixed Grill, Spaghetti Carbonara and Chicken Fettuccine as well as a Peking Duck pizza (not pictured)! Mixed Grill, which includes chargrilled chicken and lamb, was interesting. I'm probably more of a pasta girl so did prefer those dishes. Decent meal overall, but it's definitely more of a place people go to for shisha, rather than the food. (Of course, their new menu is likely to attract more people in).But worth the buy one get one free of course.

Tip: sit inside if you want to avoid the shisha

Open pretty much all day until the early hours, their new menu is one to keep an eye on!
