Located on upper Symonds Street, this takeaway burger joint is one of my top picks for gourmet burgers in Auckland!
I took a walk out of uni recently to visit this burger joint and boy, was I impressed! Their menu consists of a wide range of mouth-watering and filling burgers to choose from - from Angus and beef patties, fried chicken and vegetarian options. As if choosing a burger isn't already hard enough with so many different options, getting a side is a must too! They've got buffalo wings, shoestring fries, croquettes and more - I can vouch that everything was as tasty as it sounds!
For our burgers, we got the Krabby with juicy and well-cooked angus and wagyu beef patties, and the Mustang which had crunchy buttermilk fried chicken with kimchi aioli for some spice. For sides, we ordered Jalapeño Poppers, Bacon Ends & Cheese Croquettes, Mac n Cheese balls, plus large wings with honey sriracha sauce - what a feast, right? Everything was damn delicious - I'm drooling just thinking about it all! My favourite side was definitely the Mac n Cheese balls - but perhaps I'm biased because I love everything mac n cheese. The sides are best eaten while still fresh. Get in that hot and crisp exterior and savour all the gooey cheese! It was a pretty large order ($50 worth) that we had but all was served quick and fresh.
Although it’s 'fast food', there’s nothing hasty about Burger Geek’s preparation, with most of their ingredients prepared by hand and on side. All food is made to takeaway, but there is also space for eat-in if you wish.
