No.1 Pancake

Who would have thought that such a tiny lil stall would be producing one of Auckland's best cheap eats?

If you have not tried No. 1 Pancake, you are seriously missing out. Located on the corner of Lorne St and Wellesley St, its an absolute gem and a popular go-to for hungry students, as well as an easy lunch or snack option. Be warned though - the queue does get long during peak lunch time but it is worth the wait. With several staff crammed in this tiny space, you'll be in awe of their operating efficiency. They are truly serving up delicious Korean pancakes that will make you go back the next day for more! It completely lives up to its name - they're called No. 1 Pancake for a reason!

Made fresh to order, your pancake will always be hot once it's ready. The smell of the pancakes is irresistible when passing by. They have savoury pancakes for $6 and sweet pancakes for $4.50 (it used to be cheaper but prices have risen recently sadly). Savoury is heaps better in my opinion - they all contain cheese which is really what makes it so good to be honest. My favourites are the Potato Cheese and Beef Cheese pancake. Note they do sometimes close early if they run out of pancakes.

Pro tip: order yourself a Gongcha across the road while you're waiting for your pancake!
