For all things sweet and savoury, make a quick visit to Rocket Kitchen's boutique store in Mt Eden (previously located in Ponsonby).
Best known for their delicious cakes such as their Chocolate Whiskey Cake, Rocket Kitchen in Mt Eden have a range of sweet treats available for purchase online and in-store, as well as catering services, cabinet food and take-home frozen meals!
We were invited to come try some of their delicious goodies! It was hard to choose what to get but the desserts on display looked super tempting and gorgeously presented. We selected their Carrot & Salted Caramel Cake and a variety of their smaller sweet items. I’m a bit picky with my carrot cakes but I would totally have this one again. The cake was nice and moist, with a hint of pineapple, and the salted caramel buttercream was literally the icing on top! My other favourites were the Salted Caramel Rosette Cupcake, which had generous buttercream icing, and Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Tart (strawberry-flavoured mousse with a rhubarb jelly centre on a crumble base, yummy!).
Have to try some of their savoury items too next time! Thanks for having us Rocket Kitchen, it was a blast! ;)
